This is how the construction of Livolo cover frames and modules works
When putting together switching material, you want to know in advance what fits together. That's why the cover frames work Livolo with a clear and logical system. Once you understand this, you can create any combination you want, without a doubt.
Cover frames and flush-mounted boxes
Each position in a cover frame equals one flush-mounted box.
For example, if you have a cover frame with a single touch control button and a double touch control button, this means that two flush-mounted boxes are required next to or below each other.
The cover frame therefore not only determines the appearance, but also what the layout on the wall looks like.
What do 1, 2 and SR mean?
To keep things simple, we use fixed names for the different modules in our cover frames.
We call a cover frame with a single touch control button 1.
We call a cover frame with a double touch control button 2.
We call a cover frame with a square recess SR.
Each 1, 2 or SR represents one flush-mounted box and has its own application. By using these names, it is immediately clear which type of cover frame and which module belong together.
What is a flush-mounted box?
One flush-mounted box is the round hole in the wall in which the electrical wiring is concealed. The electrical wires come together in this box and the switching material is mounted on it. The flush-mounted box therefore forms the basis for every switch, dimmer or connection in the wall.
For cover frames, each 1, 2 or SR always requires one flush-mounted box. If you choose multiple recesses next to or below each other, this automatically means that there must be several flush-mounted boxes next to or below each other in the wall. The cover frame thus fits neatly into the underlying installation.
This fixed layout makes it easy to determine how many flush-mounted boxes you need and how your switching material is mounted on the wall.
Combine cover frames as you wish
You can combine the cover frames completely according to your wishes. Whether you choose one position or several next to each other, almost anything is possible. Cover frames are available for up to five positions next to each other.
For example, a cover frame can consist of a combination of a single touch control, a double touch control and an SR recess next to each other. These are three separate positions and therefore three flush-mounted boxes.
This image shows an example of a 1+2+SR cover frame. It is clearly visible which modules fit in each position.
Which modules fit where?
We also apply the same logic to the modules.
The module 1 is a touch switch that fits in a cover frame at position 1.
The module 2 is a touch switch that fits in a cover frame at position 2.
The SR cutout is flexible and suitable for different types of modules, such as sockets, data connections or other functions.
These fixed names make it immediately clear which module belongs to which position.
Why this system works so well
Because cover frames, positions and modules are logically coordinated, you avoid confusion when putting together your switching material. You can see at a glance how many flush-mounted boxes you need, which modules fit in which position and what the end result will look like.
Whether you want a simple setup or an extensive combination with multiple functions next to each other, the system remains clear and easy to expand.
Always delivered to suit your needs or simply put it together yourself
Products on our website are always delivered complete. This means that cover frames and modules are already correctly matched and are always delivered appropriately. You do not have to combine or check anything yourself.
If you prefer to put it together yourself, you can do so via the heading compose yourself. In this overview you only see the modules that are suitable for the selected cover frame. The system only allows combinations that match each other, so you cannot make wrong choices. This way you can be sure that everything always fits together.
*Only at the heads cover frames and modules The products are offered separately on our website. This has been done deliberately, so that you have complete freedom in putting together your own combination.
Whether you opt for a complete product or want to assemble it yourself, you can rest assured that the parts always fit together correctly.
Just to summarize
Each designation in a cover frame represents one flush-mounted box. The names 1 and 2 refer to cover frames with one or two touch control buttons, while SR stands for a cover frame with a square recess. These indications indicate which modules fit in that location. This fixed structure allows you to freely combine cover frames and modules up to a maximum of five flush-mounted boxes placed next to or below each other, fully tailored to your situation.
