One of the unique characteristics of Livolo touch switches is the subtle LED background lighting.

Our switches are equipped with a small, round light that lights up blue. When the switch is touched and activated, this light changes from blue to red, so that you can see at a glance whether the lighting is on or off.

Je hebt het vast wel eens gehoord, potentiaalvrij. Maar wat is het nou eigenlijk?
Potentiaalvrij wil eigenlijk zeggen dat je met een apparaat een vreemde spanning kan schakelen.

Een vreemde spanning is een spanning uit een ander circuit. Een normale schakelaar schakelt dezelfde
spanning uit het zelfde circuit wat deze aangeboden krijgt. Denk hierbij aan een bestaande lichtschakelaar als voorbeeld. Op de schakelaar staat 230V en als de schakelaar word omgezet gaat de lamp aan omdat deze ook 230V is.

Potentiaalvrij schakelen is dus juist het tegenovergestelde. De schakelaar krijgt een spanning aangeboden van 230V (fase en nul). Vervolgens als de schakelaar word geschakeld wordt er een maakcontact (NO) gesloten en staat er geen spanning op dit contact. Dit word ook wel een droog contact genoemd. U heeft dan ook de mogelijkheid om dit (NO) maakcontact vrij te gebruiken. U kunt het maakcontact zowel voor AC als DC toepassen.

Een NO-contact (Normally Open) op een schakelaar verwijst naar een type contact dat in de normale toestand (wanneer de schakelaar niet wordt bediend) open is, waardoor er geen stroom doorheen kan vloeien. Wanneer de schakelaar wordt bediend of ingedrukt, sluit het NO-contact, waardoor het circuit wordt voltooid en de stroom gaat lopen.

Met andere woorden, een NO-contact schakelt alleen in wanneer de schakelaar geactiveerd wordt. Dit type contact wordt vaak gebruikt in toepassingen waar iets alleen hoeft te gebeuren wanneer een actie wordt ondernomen, zoals bij een deurbel of een startknop.
