You must have heard it, potential -free. But what is it anyway?
Potential -free actually means that you can switch a strange voltage with a device.
A strange tension is a tension from another circuit. A normal switch shifts the same
Tension from the same circuit that is offered. Think of an existing light switch as an example. On the switch is 230V and when the switch is converted the lamp comes on because it is also 230V.
Potential -free switching is therefore the opposite. The switch is offered a voltage of 230V (phase and zero). Then when the switch is switched, a make contact (NO) is closed and there is no voltage on this contact. This is also called a dry contact. You therefore have the option to freely use this (NO) make contact. You can apply the creation contact for both AC and DC.
