Installation
How do I best prepare the installation?
Good preparation prevents errors during installation. We advise you to first explain all products in a well -organized way before you start mounting.
Follow these simple steps for this:
- Check your order: See if you have received the correct covering windows and associated modules for each room.
- Prepare per cover window:
Place the box of the cover window where it should be placed. In addition, place the correct number of modules (for example 3 modules with a cover window for 3 built -in boxes). - Placement on location: Put every complete set (cover window + modules) in the right place in the home. This way you immediately see whether you have everything complete per room.
Benefit:
You will receive an overview of your entire project at a glance. You prevent or have to search or have to search during the installation, and you can work more efficiently and without interruptions.
Can I mount your switch material both horizontally and vertically?
Yes, all our switching material is designed for flexible assembly. You can place the switches and wall sockets both horizontally and vertically, depending on what fits best with your space and personal preference.
You can also mount modules such as a power outlet or USB connection in the desired direction of rotation. For example, you decide whether, for example, the plug entrance points up, below or aside.
This freedom in place makes it possible to make the switch material optimally match with the layout of your interior or the available space on the wall.
What do I connect the switch material to?
You can connect all our switch material, including the smart touch switches, to standard 230V electrical wiring. No special cabling is required.
For class boots
Our switches are connected to the usual wiring:
- Phase wire (brown)
- Switch wire (black)
A zero wire (blue) is not necessary with our switches, making them suitable for every homes.
For sockets
When connecting sockets, the following threads are used:
- Phase wire (brown)
- Nuldraad (blue)
- Earth wire (green/yellow) – also called PE (protection earth)
The grounding is essential for safety and ensures that any error flows are drained safely.
What do I do before painting the wall?
Before you start painting it is important to take the switch material into account for a tight and neat finish.
Follow these steps:
- First place the metal mounting frame On the flush -mounted box. This frame indicates exactly where the covering windows come and helps you to finish the wall around it nicely.
- Finish the wall tightly Around the frame. Enter any irregularities and make sure that no cracks remain visible once the cover is mounted.
- Temporarily remove the metal frame As soon as the wall is tightly finished, or stick it carefully with painting tape. This way you prevent paint from coming up or that the frame gets stuck.
NB: Only apply the cover window after the paintwork is completely dry. This way you prevent damage or paint stains on the glass.
What do I do when a wall is plastered?
Make the openings for the built -in boxes as small as possible, so that the cover frame neatly covers the edges of the flush -mounted box. This way you prevent visible cracks.
Why are the screws on the modules closed on delivery?
The screws on the Livolo modules are consciously deliberately fully closed. This prevents the clips from rising, rattling or being damaged during transport. So it is not a mistake, but a conscious quality measure to deliver your product in perfect condition.
What is the advantage of this?
Because the clamps are firmly stuck, the internal parts remain well protected and it is prevented that unnecessary wear occurs during transport or storage. You will receive a solid product ready for installation.
How do I correctly connect the wiring?
- Turn the screw completely Open Until the clip is visible and free.
- Then put the stripped wire In the clamp opening.
- Turn the screw again fixed So that the thread clamps well.
Note: Never try to enter the wire without first loosening the screw, because then it will not get stuck properly and there may be poor contact.
Can I install the products myself?
Yes, the installation is designed for ease of use. Thanks to the clear connections and standard dimensions, technical knowledge is not required. The switch can be mounted both horizontally and vertically, depending on your situation.
Are touch switches safe to use in damp rooms?
Absolute. Our touch switches are designed for use in damp environments. They can even be operated safely in the bathroom with wet hands. Because the touch control is behind the glass, they are completely protected, so that there is no direct contact with electricity when used.
Coal
Can the color of the cover frame fade due to sunlight?
No, the color of our covering windows is applied to the rear of the glass. As a result, the color is protected against UV radiation and will not fade, even after years of use, they will always look like new.
Does the glass cover window fit with different interior styles?
Yes, the transparent character of the glass ensures that the cover window adapts to the environmental colors. In a light room it looks lighter, while in a dark room it gets a darker look. This makes the cover window versatile and suitable for various interior styles.
Which deck windows are available?
We offer deck windows of 1 to 5 built -in boxes wide. These are available in various colors and styles, matching any interior.
Are the glass deckers scratch -resistant?
Yes, our shelves are made of tempered crystal glass, which makes them exceptionally scratch -resistant. Even with daily use, such as touches with rings or keys, they remain undamaged and retain their shine.
Can I use two single deck windows next to each other?
No, you should always use the correct cover window for the number of binded -mounted bodies placed. Two single covering windows are not suitable for assembly side each other.
How do I choose the right cover window?
Count the number of built -in boxes that are next to each other. Then choose a cover window that connects exactly to it: for example, a cover window for 2, 3, 4 or 5 modules.
Are there also vertical deck windows?
Yes, our shelves are suitable for both horizontal and vertical assembly. Choose the desired orientation when compiling your product.
What is the difference between decking and modules?
The cover is the frame that is placed over the modules. The modules are the functional parts such as switches, sockets or dimmers.
Can I combine loose modules in one cover frame?
Yes, all modules that you select through our configurator are compatible with the chosen cover window. 1 module per built -in box is always required.
What happens when a glass cover window falls?
Although the hardened glass is very strong, it can break with a hard fall. In that case the glass will fall into small, blurry pieces, similar to a car window. This is because it concerns safety glass.
Are the shelves reusable?
Yes, the deck windows can be removed with a flat screwdriver through the bottom, you can then use them again with a redesign or displacement.
Can I install the glass deck windows myself?
Yes, the installation is simple and requires no special tools. We recommend using both hands during installation to hold the glass firmly and prevent the risk of falling.
How do I maintain the glass cover windows and touch switches?
The smooth surface of the hardened glass is easy to clean with a soft, damp cloth. Due to the smooth surface, there is also no dirt on it.

What makes the touch control special?
The glass touch control provides a modern and luxurious user experience. You activate the lighting with a light touch. This technology replaces the traditional mechanical click and thus offers an exclusive and quiet switching experience.
Can I use the Livolo switch in an existing home?
Yes, the Livolo touch switch is suitable for both new construction and existing homes. The connection is made on standard wiring: phase wire (brown) and switching wire (black). You can therefore easily replace your existing switches without extra cabling.
Do I need a zero wire for this switch?
No, the Livolo touch switch works without zero wire (even with the Smart Home variant). This makes installation possible in every home, even when you do not have a modern wiring. This also makes the system ideal for renovation projects.
What is the double L connection?
The double L connection on the back makes it possible to easily loop power through to adjacent switches or sockets. This reduces the need for awkward welding caps in the flush -mounted box and facilitates the installation.
How sustainable is the touch control?
The touch switches from Livolo are designed to last for years. Unlike mechanical switches, there are no moving parts that can wear or become defective. This minimizes the risk of malfunctions and considerably extends the lifespan. Ideal for intensive daily use.
What does the light in the middle of the Livolo touch switch do?
There is a subtle LED indicator in the middle of the glass plate. This ensures orientation lighting, so that you can easily find the switch in the dark.
- Blue: Lighting is switched off
- Red: Lighting is switched on
The LED does not radiate bright light and therefore does not disturb in the room.
Why doesn't the light in my Livolo switch burn?
The LED light in the Livolo touch switch only functions when a working lamp (consumer) is connected. This light serves as an indication of whether the lighting is on or off, and therefore only works if electricity is actually transferred to a connected lamp.
When there no lamp is connected or if the lamp is defective, the LED light remains in the switch. The switch recognizes that no consumption takes place and automatically switches off the indicative lighting.
This is a smart security and prevents confusion: if the LED light stays off while you normally expect a blue or red indication, check whether:
- A lamp is connected correctly
- The lamp works well and is not broken
- The wiring is connected correctly according to the instructions
As soon as a working lamp is connected to the exit, the LED light in the switch will function normally.
What is the function of the LED lighting in the Livolo touch switch?
The LED indicator in the middle of the glass front panel serves as an orientation lighting. This allows you to see at a glance where the switch is located, even in a dark room. It provides extra comfort and convenience, especially in the evening or at night.
Does the LED lighting release a lot of light?
No, absolutely not. The LED indicator does not radiate blinding light and is comparable to the subtle standby light of your television. It is designed to be visible without being a nuisance - ideal for spaces such as bedrooms, where peace and darkness are important.
What do the colors of the LED light mean?
The colors indicate the status of the connected lighting in a luxurious way:
- Blue: The lighting is disabled
- Blue: The lighting is disabled
This is particularly useful in situations where the lighting is in a place other than the switch, such as your outside or attic Velichting.
Why is the LED light handy with outdoor sealing?
With the red LED indicator you can immediately see whether the outdoor lighting is still on, without having to look outside. This is not only practical, but also prevents unnecessary power consumption because you do not forget to switch off the light.
Can I use the LED lighting as a control function in my home?
Certainly. The LED is ideal as a indicator light with, for example, alternating circuits. For example, you can already see below whether the light in the attic is still burning. This gives a sense of control and contributes to energy -efficient behavior.
Is the LED lighting visible in the dark?
Yes, the LED is designed to be visible but not disturbing in dark spaces. It is clear enough to find the switch, but soft enough not to disturb if you want to sleep, for example. So you don't have to worry about a bright light in the room.
Recessed boxes
What type of flush -mounted box do I need?
All our switching material fits in standard built -in boxes. Both round and square flush -mounted boxes are suitable.
What exactly is meant by a built -in box?
A built -in box is the hole or the box in the wall in which the switching material is placed. With round boxes these are the famous round holes in the wall.
What is a correct assembly order?
First mount the metal frame on the flush -mounted box, then attach the module (s), and finally place the cover window.
What if the flush -mounted box is skewed in the wall?
Try to align this as well as possible or use fill rings. Small abnormalities are usually corrected by the metal mounting frame and the cover window.
Does every cover frame fit on any flush -mounted box?
Yes, as long as the box has a standard size and you use the correct number of modules, the cover window always fits.
Can I use decorations for renovations?
Certainly. Our products are also suitable for existing construction and renovations.
Compile yourself
I don't see my combination on your website, what now?
You can easily put together your desired combination yourself via the menu 'Switch material' → 'compile yourself'. There you choose the number of available recessed boxes, the desired cover window and the required functions.
How exactly does it work to put together?
Step 1: Choose the number of built -in boxes.
Step 2: Select a cover window.
Step 3: Add the desired modules.
The configurator only shows compatible combinations.
Can I combine a double switch with socket?
Yes, as long as the combination fits within the number of chosen modules, you can combine various functions in one cover window.
Why don't I see certain modules putting together yourself?
Compiling the menu itself only shows modules that are compatible with your chosen cover window and module layout. This way you prevent incorrect combinations.
What if I want to add an extra function later?
You can always choose a cover with more modules and choose not to add a module for that position. This way you keep room for future extensions.
